Exfoliation is the most important step in a beauty routine, and to keep a young healthy looking skin. When you exfoliate the skin you are removing all dead cells or dead skin on top, letting the new skin visible.
There are many different scrubs that you can find on the store cheap and expensive ones, but, there are so many other recipes to make them at home with natural ingredients.

Today I'm going to share an alternative version of the popular sugar and oil scrub that we all know. This recipe contains rose petals;  rose petals have moisturizing properties which makes them perfect for any skin type, especially those who have sensitive skin because it won´t irritate the skin, it won´t dry the skin due to its natural oils. They also help to deep clean our pores and they have an amazing smell.

Rose petals  can be dried or fresh
Sugar can be brown or white (  i prefer brown)
Oil can be coconut, olive, grape, avocado etc.

The first thing you are going to do is to rip all the petals into small pieces, this will help them to release its oil, now start adding the sugar, but add it in small portions and start mixing.

The sugar will turn pink or red depending on the color of your petals, do not add too much sugar, the idea is that the sugar and the petals become one. I use 1/4 of a cup of petals and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Once it's mixed together start adding the oil, again in small portions I only use 1 1/2 tablespoons of avocado oil. Do not add too much oil either, you only need enough to make a paste of it.

This scrub can be used once a week or twice a month, depending on your needs. Because it has rose petals it won't be a harsh scrub so it is safe to use on your face, lips, hands, body, legs, feet...

If you use fresh petals do not make a big amount of it as it can discompose, it won't last you more than 3 weeks. If you decide to use dry petals it will last you longer.

Roses have many properties and benefits for our skin and health, it will all depend on how do we use them. They can be used as a scrub, you can make rose water with them as a facial toner or calm any irritations on the skin, can also make rose essential oil for a great moisturizer, you can even make a face mask.

Next time you have roses in your house don´t wait for them to die and throw them away, use them, and take advantage of all the amazing benefits they can give to your skin, hair, and health.
