10 Beauty Hacks for this Summer
There are some beauty staples that can’t be
transition season to season they need to be customize according to the weather
Here are 10 beauty hacks for this summer to beat the heat and stay beautiful.
Use SPF
There are different factors to consider when it comes to
choosing the right SPF for you. First you need to choose the right protection
for you can be a 15 a 20 a 60, you need to choose the one that offers enough UV
protection for your skin type.
A sunscreen should protect your skin not only from UV rays
but also from UV-A and UV-B rays. Try one that is water proof if you will be
swimming or have oily skin.
Also remember to apply your sunscreen every 2 to 3 hours to
ensure your protection.
Use coffee filters or facial bloating paper to absorb the
oil and sweet from the heat
During the summer we sweat a lot more than usual and also
our skin gets really oily, the first mistake that we do is we over wash our
face; by doing this you are causing your skin to over produce the oil to keep
it moisture, so instead of washing more times your face try using facia
bloating paper or if you don’t have any use coffee filters, pad them gently on
your face to absorb the excess oil and sweat.
Stay Moisturized
Keep using your moisturizer but change to a lighter one it
can be a gel moisturizer, don’t use the tick one that you will probably use during
winter timer. We expose our skin to the sun and heat and need to be hydrated,
this also will help your skin stop over producing oil, won’t have any
irritation. Your skin will also not look dull and flaky and your makeup wont
crease.
Use your moisturizer before applying SPF.
Use Face Packs-Masks
A face pack contains antioxidants and sometimes antiseptic
properties that will help the skin fight infections, dryness, also can help
heal or prevent irritations.
A face pack or a face mask can also be a great way
to moisturize your skin and help with acne issues, by cleaning the pores,
reduce excess oils and removing death cells.
Exfoliate or shave before sun tanning
If you are going to exfoliate your skin or shave / wax your
legs or any other part of your body, you better do it 24 to 48 hours before you
sun tan or spending long ours under direct sunlight. Why?
After being expose to the sun your skin will be very
sensitive and can irritate easily, while exfoliating you are removing death
cells and that can be aggressive for your skin and saving can cause bumps on
your legs.
Aloe Vera is your new friend
If you don’t know aloe vera, is a plan with many beauty and
health benefits; you can check my post on the benefits of aloe vera.
You Can use the plant as it is or you can get it in gel
form, aloe vera will be a great help if you have sun burns, to hydrate your
skin after long hour exposure and prevent your skin from peeling off.
Use a Setting Spray for your makeup
During the hot weather is best to change your makeup a
little, you can say bye to your regular foundation and only use concealer and
powder.
If you feel like you can’t give it up try using a BB cream or a CC
cream just remember the colour will change because you will be darker than you
are in the winter.
Try using less makeup and more neutral colours for
eyeshadow, or maybe just eyeliner blush and bronzer, but if you like it keep it
vibrant on the lipstick.
You Can use a makeup setting spray to set your makeup you can make one at home and a
little extra tip: you can use milk of magnesia as a primer if you have really oily skin.
Stay Hydrated
We lose a lot of water during the summer season, stay
hydrated by drinking at least 2 literss of water a day to stay healthy and maintaining
the function of every system in our body, eating more fruits will also help you
stay hydrated.
Drinking water does more than just hydrate your body it also
keep your skin, teeth, and bones healthy, keeps your joints and muscles healthy,
reduces fatige, helps in weight loss etc.
Protect your Hair
The same way you protect your skin from the sun you should
protect your hair too by using a hat, can be any hat you like I personally like
the big ones.
Another way to protect your hair if you are going to the beach
or the pool, wet your hair with water before jumping in t the pool that way
your hair will absorb the water instead of the bleach.
Hydrate your hair
Your hair also needs to be hydrated the same way your skin
and your body does, and the conditioner Is not enough. Try using oils like argan
oil or coconut oil to hydrate it or you can also use a hair mask to repair all
the damage and have silky, strong, and soft hair. 2 common hair mask that will help having healthy hair are: avocado mask and papaya hair mask
