What causes under eye bags and how to avoid them

Bags under your eyes?


Do you ever wonder why you have bags under your eyes? What causes them? Probably you have and probably also thought that is just because you don´t have enough sleep. In the today´s post not only I´ll tell you some of the reasons why you have these horrible bags but also tips to avoid them and help them disappear.

 Under eye bags are characterized by training in the lower lid, bringing a sad and aging appearance to the face, not to mention that they are nothing aesthetic. But why do they appear?

 First of all we must understand dark circles and under eye bags are NOT the same, dark circles usually are dark or green tones and bags are colorless as such is only inflammation.


 Second, if one day you wake up with swollen eyes does not mean you have bags it just means you have not had enough sleep, and this inflammation will be removed during the day.


 Having clarified those points that believe it or not many people get confused, lets get back to the central point of this post. There are several factors which  appear eye bags:

Not getting enough sleep
Smoking
Excessive drinking
Spend many hours in front of the monitor
Fluid retention
by inheritance


Unfortunately if your bags are by inheritance there is not much that can be done, except perhaps plastic surgery; but if your cause is one of the other factors these are some tips you can do to remove them or prevent them from appearing.

Sleeping: so easy to sleep the recommended eight hours are essential for a good rest and recover your whole body. It is best to sleep before midnight to achieve better rest. That is, you will not rest if you sleep from 9:00 pm-6:00am that if you sleep from 2:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  your body does not recovers the same, even if the same amount of sleeping hours.

Use cold compresses and cold tea bags: can be green or chamomile tea (10 min) will help reduce inflammation and stimulate circulation in that area.

Avoid foods high in salt, alcohol, tabacco: as these only increase fluid retention which will go to our eyelids and cause the bags.


Do not rub your eyes: rubbing the  eyes will not make to suddenly appear the bags, but  you are damagimg the skin in that area which is very sensitive, it can get to be a little flabby, and cause premature wrinkling.

Sleeping with the head higher than the rest of the body: this will help keep fluid under the eyes, sleep circulation is slower because the body is at rest and tends to accumulate liquid in this area so sometimes we wake with swollen eyes.

Drink a minimum of 2 liters of water a day: it helps to have better circulation.

Use special creams made for this area of the face: there are products that are special for the under eyes as it is a very delicate area the skin is more sensitive and thinner than the rest of the face, these creams can even help prevent premature wrinkles.

  1. Eso de las bolsas es realmente fastidioso aunque yo tengo ojeras y se me marcan aún más en época de exámenes, son realmente odiosas y no se que hacer para atenuarlas, si es que hasta el maquillaje le cuesta cubrirlas. Un gran post y excelentes consejos. Un beso guapa
